Hradec nad Moravicí, the Czech Republic, October 25 – 27th, 2018

The Institute of Geodesy of the Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic, in collaboration with the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics of the Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Poland and the Institute of Rock Structure and Mechanics, Czech Academy of Sciences, are pleased to extend an invitation to the 19th Workshop on Recent Geodynamics of the Central Europe that will be held in the town Hradec nad Moravicí in October 25 – 27 th, 2018.

You are hereby invited to contribute your papers and posters to this Workshop, which will provide a unique chance to benefit from its scientific programme, to have a fruitful exchange of knowledge, to foster new friendships and to explore the potential of further scientific collaboration.

The NE-SW Štramberk – Horní Benešov fault system complicated character and origin, is located nearby. It is one of the most important morphotectonic features of the region, connected with sub-recent basaltoid volcanism wich is observable in the relief along more than 130 km. Whole area is built by the Culm facies complex more than 8 km thick, with the Bruno – Vistulian units in the basement.

The scientific programme of the 19th Workshop is focused on the topics concerning the Geodynamics and recent mobility of the Central European areas; the Bohemian Massif and the Alps and Carpathians territory. Topics of the Workshop are:

  • Geodesy – cruscrustal movements, GNNS observations, precise levelling, gravity, InSAR technique, the Earth shape
  • Geophysics – seismology, seismic stress and strain fields, geomagnetism, magnetotellurics, heat flow
  • Geology – neotectonics, neo-volcanology, geomorphology, remote sensing, brittle tectonics
